PCB Chief Discharges Accusations Of Match-Fixing

Ijaz Butt, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman on Sunday gives notice to charges of match-fixing against the national cricket team players. Ijaz Butt said that if any of his assistant moves up the matter of match-fixing, “he is talking nonsense.”

In a trickled video recording of an inquiry commission trial, Pakistan team coaches, Aaqib Javed and Intikhab Alam hoisst doubts about the performance of Kamran Akmal, wicketkeeper during the winless trip of Australia previous this year. Intikhab Alam supposed that he was stunned when Kamran Akmal ignored a run out of Shane Watson in the Sydney test and afterward came across proposition of match-fixing.

However, Butt held the International Cricket Council’s Anti-Corruption Unit has initiated stern safety measures for all worldwide matches. “Nobody is allowed to enter into players’ dressing room, only the manager carries a mobile phone with him during international matches and there are several other security measures which they take,” It’s (match-fixing) all media hype and nothing else, Butt assumed.

Butt alleged ex- captain Younis Khan’s career was destroyed by fake match-fixing accusations when a parliamentarian indicted Pakistan of tossing the semifinal of the Champions Trophy in South Africa previous year. The PCB imposed fine charges and dismissed seven cricketers, including Younis on an inquiry commission suggestion for a need of regulation and meager presentation during the visit of Australia.

Butt told he accepted all the fines and deferrasl. Six players have since petitioned against deferrals and fines. The PCB head supposed that mediator, Irfan Qadir will present his statement to the cricket board’s leading board, which will take the absolute verdict. “Let the appeals be completed and I will not comment until we get the final report from the arbitrator,” Butt held.
